ONCC administers a hugely successful junior section and since 1987 we have an excellent history in developing and helping youngsters to progress through the age group teams and into senior cricket. The majority of our senior teams currently comprise of home-grown players.

Under 10A & 10B
Under 11
Under 12

Under 14
Under 15A & 15B

We run mini-cricket sessions for both boys and girls age 4-10 years old once a week throughout the summer from early may until late July on a Friday evening. All these sessions are run by ECB-qualified coaches and enable younger children to learn and develop a range of skills using Kwik (soft ball) cricket and we enter teams in a range of Under 9 Kwik cricket tournaments during the summer.

Throughout the winter we run training sessions for our squads at Northampton School for Boys on a Monday and Friday evening to work on and develop the cricketing skills of our players. This also provides new players an opportunity to get involved with a view to joining the club for the new season.

In 2014, our then U13 side became ECB National Champions following three days of high quality cricket at Oundle School. The ONs side remained unbeaten throughout the three days and won the title ahead of West Bretton, Cambridge Granta, Guildford, Barnt Green and Bedminister in the T20 league format to win the title for the first time in the club’s history in a competition that has over 1700 clubs enter every season. The same ONs u13 squad went on to win Northamptonshire Sport’s 2014 Team of the Year award.

Old Northamptonians Cricket Club has held ECB Clubmark Status since 2007, with successful renewal of this in 2010 and 2013. This is recognition of our standards of coaching, safety and security for the youth of the club. This has led to us becoming a “Focus Club” in the County, which means we are entitled to apply for various grants from the ECB and are supported by Northants Cricket in other grant applications. To maintain this status, we continue to train more coaches for our junior teams to continue to provide a full set of age group sides from Under 10 to Under 15.
